What are All-On-4 Implants?

The All-On-4, also referred to as "Teeth in a Day," procedure provides patients with the chance to have their remaining teeth extracted, implants inserted, and a completely functional smile all within a single day! This technique not only improves the aesthetics of patients' smiles but also revitalizes their perspective on life. Numerous individuals face challenges such as extensive tooth decay, deteriorating dental work, and fractured teeth. For these individuals, the All-On-4, "Teeth in a Day" procedure is the perfect answer to attain a fresh smile and address longstanding dental problems.
  • It is the most natural-looking and aesthetically pleasing option as it resembles natural teeth in both appearance and texture.
  • It is a permanent solution that stays in the mouth without the need for removal like dentures.
  • There are no long healing times required before you can use your dental implants.
  • The roof of the mouth remains uncovered.
  • It provides the best chewing ability compared to other options for replacing a full arch or full mouth of teeth.
  • It is perfect for individuals with limited bone as it is ideal for those who have been informed of insufficient bone for implants.
  • It enhances your food tasting experience!

All-On-4

How it Works

This procedure includes removing any remaining teeth, placing 4-6 implants per arch, and attaching a low-profile bridge to those implants. The strategic positioning of the implants avoids the sinuses, eliminating the need for costly bone grafts and lengthy healing periods.

Our doctor has enhanced the traditional All-On-4 procedure by personalizing it based on their expertise and understanding, resulting in better outcomes for patients. At Indiana Dentures and Implants, we carefully evaluate each case and customize our treatment to the patient's unique anatomy. Your doctor will implant between four and six implants per arch, and temporary fixed bridges will be installed while your implants integrate with your jawbones and your mouth heals.

Once the healing process is complete, the doctor and lab technician will create your final teeth using zirconia, a material that is significantly stronger than the acrylic denture teeth commonly offered at other dental practices. Zirconia also provides a more natural and lifelike appearance, is more hygienic, and is resistant to staining. Consequently, these teeth will have a longer lifespan and a superior aesthetic compared to the acrylic/titanium hybrid bridges commonly found elsewhere.

Am I a Candidate?

Many patients, including those previously informed of insufficient bone for dental implants, can undergo this procedure. To circumvent the sinuses and utilize the sturdiest bone available, a combination of straight and angled implants will be employed by your doctor. This approach typically eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming sinus augmentation bone grafts. Your doctor will evaluate if All-On-4, also known as "Teeth in a Day," is suitable for you during your complimentary consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

All-On-4 Procedure Timeline

The procedure typically lasts 4-6 hours, depending on whether you are treating a single arch (upper or lower) or both arches (full mouth). After leaving our office, your temporary bridge(s) will be securely attached to your new implants. These temporary bridges will be worn for 4 months to allow for integration of the implants with your bone and healing of your jaws and gums. This healing time ensures the best fit for your final bridges. Once the healing is complete, we will begin fabricating your final bridge(s). This process will involve a few appointments over a 5-6 week period, during which you will have the opportunity to design the smile you desire for your permanent teeth.
01.
Mouth Impressions
The lab utilizes these materials to create your temporary implant bridge(s). In case you are missing a significant number of teeth in the arch that will be treated, the doctor might recommend a wax try-in. This involves creating a model of your temporary implant bridge using wax, which will be used to assess bite position, aesthetics, and other factors.
02.
Procedure
The process includes extracting any required teeth, inserting implants, and subsequently placing temporary implant bridge(s). Typically, the procedure takes approximately 4 to 7 hours.
03.
Post Op #1
After the procedure, please check the healing progress and feel free to ask any questions you may have.
04.
Post Op #2
3 weeks after procedure | Remove sutures, check healing, patient typically cleared to begin using water flosser/WaterPik at this appointment.
05.
Impressions for Final Teeth
After 4 months of the procedure
06.
Try In
Within 5-10 days after impressions, we will provide you with a mock-up of your final teeth. In certain cases, multiple wax try-ins may be required. It is crucial for us to ensure your satisfaction with the wax try-ins before proceeding with further steps. Once the try-ins are processed, any modifications become unfeasible. Therefore, if you decide to make alterations to your bridge(s) after approving and fabricating them, a full-cost remake charge will be applicable.
07.
Seat Final Teeth
Once you have given your approval for the wax try-in(s), it usually takes around 4-6 weeks for your bridge or bridges to be prepared for seating.
